"Fallen Leaves"
by Bill Truax

Brown fallen leaves
Lives spent
Cooling hallowed ground
Dancing on brisk winds
A harbinger of winter

Brown fallen leaves
Soon to rest
Like others who lie
'Neath hallowed ground
Under blankets of white

Brown fallen leaves
Soon to become
Part of earth's soil
Granting nourishment
Worthy once again
