The Charlies'Angels of Israeli
music! They are so camp and kitsh that they become great!!! Their last album was in 1976,
and when they parted, Yardena Arazi went on a solo career,
Lea Lupatin joined the group Chalav Udvash (abandoned by Gali Atari) and Ruti Holtzman went home... Still, they did have a
few fantastic songs, including famous Israeli evergreens. Their singing is really nice,
easy to like and listen to.They all reunited for a couple of songs on Yardena Arazi's
album "Tahana Baderer"
(Stop on the road) and were fab! Yardena's career is still prettu much on top,
Lea Lupatin had a few hits over the past years (her voice became very raspy and not very
pleasant at all though) and Ruti Holtzman is still at home (I guess). Unfortunately, there
is no CD of Chokolad Minta Mastik on the market, allegedly for copyrights issues. There
are a few compilations where you can find a few of their songs (listed here). I compared
Chokolad Minta Mastik to the Charlies'Angels, but I could have compared them to the
Supremes too. In any case, today, kitsh is in, so why not indulge in a bit of Chokolad
Minta Mastik? |
