 Ethnix was very innovative
when they started (1989) because they mixed oriental rhytms with dance tempos and pop
music. Their success came very quickly and they were huge till the mid 90's. Then, their
albums did not sell as well (although they are still quite popular). We have to say that
the group Ethnix is not lazy, and indeed they release a new album almost every single
year. The problem is that on each album you have one or two great songs, and the rest is
rather boring. What I mean is that when you have listened to one album, you have listened
to their whole discography: it is more or less always the same. Don't get me wrong, I do
like Ethnix, but I think that it is a little too repetitive and that some songs are not
good at all. That's why the greatest hits that they released in 1995 is a breat buy (by
the way, the packaging of the CD is really cool). Still, Ethnix brought a lot to Israeli
music and I bet that you are going to like a few of their tunes! |
