Halfcrazy

The moon is half-full today
means i'm only half crazy
the doctor said i was insane
because i hear voices
all around me
maybe it's the moon.

the moon shines down on me
as I walk my daily trek
defeat, anger, and lies
are all I know and feel
hypnotized
by the moon's bright glow
I wish to reach up and touch it
and take it with me so i won't be alone
the light will guide me to a safe place
where nothing hurts
where i am numb
and i am Me
and i no longer
feel like i have to move
i can just lie down
and forget my sorrows
and let the voices in my head
carry me to a new place
where I can feel heavenly
where i am
heartless
numb
voiceless--
