Digging for Clams
There was a tidal mud flat
In Ujina sea shore
Still my parents had lived in that time
To help family's finances
Dishes to go with the rice
I used to go digging for shellfish |
|
At low tide, it is not keeping so long
Everybody digs a small shell on the tidal flat
With a plow of digging for clams
As well as we can
When the tide is in, it will be finish
A harvest is about a small bucket
Thus, my mom makes shell soup for some time |
|
It is interested to dig a big shell
Many holes on the tidal flat
Unclear hole was covered by mud
We have to find out that kind of holes
Stick from the side by a rib of a coarse oil paper umbrella
Come into being a hole on short notice
Because of a feeler of the shell is pulling down at a surprise
We dig that point rather deep
Skillful guy takes many, but I am not good at that |
|
This place was reclaimed a long time ago
Big factory in Mazda automobile company now
Young people impossible to know
Once this place was a good tidal mud flat! |

A Razor Clam
A razor clam
When I did digging for shellfish
To help for family's food |
|
Someone said
We can take a razor clam
That where is close at Miyuki bridge
The mouth of a river
That river-bed was sandy flat |
|
A razor clam likes this place
When tide is going out
Stand on the bottom of the river
Search a hole of razor clam
This hole blow water
I pour into a hole a pinch of salt |
|
It takes rather time
I can't wait for
Grow impatient so again
Pure into a pinch of salt
Thus I try for times
A razor clam went out from his den
I catch him |
|
This hunting do not pay
I brought a pack of salt
From the kitchen in my house
Confidentially with my mom
Used up all of salt soon
Somewhere around ten game
That can't be a dish in supper |
|
It might be interesting this method
But I stopped taking a razor clam |
|
Now this place is changed
Reclaim the land and the pollution of the environment
There is no room for a razor clam to live! |

Atlantis
Traditional Atlantis
Plato told
There was a continent in Atlantic Ocean
They had a high civilization
All of a sudden a volcanic eruption
Went under sea consequently |
|
In this century
Edgar Cayce who was a sleeping prophet
Said about Atlantis in details
According his reading
The present day many American
In the distant past
Atlantis people was |
|
A Scientist looks
Santorini island in Greece
Discovery of a prehistoric site
A collapse by an earthquake
Land slipped down under the sea
Here is a very Atlantis |
|
Recent a theory of plate tectonics
The specific gravity of the land is small
The continent float on a greater specific gravity earth
So never sink down under the sea
Cayce's reading go back against recent science |
|
Thus I look
This mystery Atlantis
If Atlantis was there,
Santorini island in Greece
Not in the Atlantic ocean |

Edgar Cayce is true?
Edgar Cayce (1877~1945)
A famous psychical healer in America
The state of things in trance
Diagnose of illness with accuracy
Gave a prescription on medical treatment
About 30,000 of diagnosis while 43 years
Cayce did clairvoyance of a patient's former life
Also precognition
He well deserved praise to do his unselfish life |
|
I think he would be a nice man
And many people was saved by his life reading
I do not raise an objection on his deed |
|
His all reading is done when he is sleeping
What we call the condition of trance
This point we must regard
Which kind of sprit said by using his body?
Earth bound sprit like to say such precognition or prophecy
Some hit a point because
this sort of spirit approach to the earth
Though low level type spirit
So that this spirit like to deceive the people |
|
A prophecy in Edgar Cayce
There is some doubt
It is not agree with progressing of recent science
Beside his prophecy was not right |
|
A book wrote Edgar Cayce
Which is interesting thing to read
But
I don't think he is true in all points!

The Hell of Unzen
The hell of Unzen
I had stayed only a day at Unzen hot spring
Where is 727m sea level above
A zone of Unzen volcanos
It is popular hot spring spot in Japan
There are many hotels and Japanese inns
Near the hotel there is "jigoku" means "hell"
The hell is a source of hot spring
I took a walk in this hell in the afternoon
Walking a narrow path around the steam
The stench from the sulfur assailed my nostrils
Boiling water gush out from under the earth
Here is a sightseeing spot in Unzen
But there are some sad story |
|
Japanese king Hideyoshi begun
to persecute Christianity since 1587
At first 26 number of priests and believers was crucified at Nagasaki
In every where
Many Christians is driven home away, get tortured and massacred
A magistrate Takenaka in Nagasaki tried to make his/her believe throw away
To break believer's sprit
But he knew that is impossible to make Father and followers resolution change
By dint of alone the word
Then he resolute to take another measure
That is to torture them by boiling water in Unzen hell |
|
A suggestion on this torture is Simabara lord Matukura
Unzen hell's boiling water burned the skin of Christian in 1627
Paul Utibori and others 16 include
females and children was killed
By get boiled sulfuric spring thrown over
People prays aloud and sung a hymn
A public servant put a gag in their mouth
Killed them press down in hot water |
|
Why the Tokugawa shogunate gave a torture to Christians
Its main purpose is to conversion than to kill
In the first to turn his/her believe
If they did not turned Christian
they took a way to death |
|
A magistrate Takenaka brought Christians
to Unzen from Nagasaki in 1629
The first victims was 64 who among them was 27 females
A believer was stripped and was bound with both hand, both legs
Was poured on his/her back with boiled water
According Augustinian padre whom got this torture in 1631
"Sulfuric hot water is terrible boiling, jetting out the smell like a cheese
When that hot water poured, the flesh melt, soon enough the bone exposed
In case of a spray of boiled water splashed again
To the extent of the bone was missing to melt"
It is said to protract the pain, treat a sore wound, if get well so tortured again
The people was taken here
Renounce his/her faith was about 60, martyrs was 33
Unzen hell is going on emit a steam or hot spring as it used to |

A fishy story
Mrs. Imazu was my class teacher
As I was four grade
She was a talkative teacher
It was very fun of things than a lesson
There was an unforgettable story
That was her experience
When she was a grade school |
|
She had lived one of island in the Seto Inland Sea
In summer time she walked
in the small hill with her friend
The hill with grove was near the seashore
Suddenly a snake appears
She is afraid of a snake so that
hide behind the rock with her friend
A snake crawl down to the beach from the land
There was an octopus in the beach
A snake confront with an octopus
Glare at each other for a moment
She was looking the state of affaires
from behind the rock
By and by an octopus lost his power
So a snake winds itself around the body of an octopus
Put the power to squeeze
The game is over
But surprisingly
Next time an octopus spread out his 8 legs by his strength
In an instant, snake's body was broken into pieces
About one inch pieces
An octopus raked up together pieces of a snake
Hold in his 8 legs
So turned back into the sea |
|
She and her friend looked at all the details
by the wonderment
Next day in the school
She and her friend told about that to their teacher
"You are very happy to see such a novel thing!"
Their teacher said with admiration |
|
It sometimes happens like that
Anyway my class teacher said that story
When that time I was a child
I had not any doubt so far
But it is a fishy story!
Mrs. Imazu made a fairy story |

A Descent into the Maelstrom
A Descent into the Maelstrom
I read this at library in my junior high school
Author is Edgar Allan Poe
This story is best of my exciting ones
I remember to read this book
without knowing what I am doing
I was young boy
So it was fascinated very much feel with thrilling
It is like a S.F. story
A hero got involved in a huge whirlpool
at the near seas in Norway
Last he has the sense to do so that escape death
But his brother died |
|
I told this story to playmates in the neighborhood
They are admiring with my tale
about "A descent into the Maelstrom"
It sure they felt some thrilling to hear my tale
One of them read that book in the library after that
He said to me that my first story is more impact
than reading a real novel
I was pleased about his said
"Oh! I am a good story teller"
By the way, that subject was translated
"A whirlpool of Mosken" at that time |

Exodus 14
Exodus 14
21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea,
and the Lord drove the sea back by a strong
east wind all night, and made the sea dry land,
and the waters were divided.
22 And the people of Israel went into the midst of the sea
on dry ground, the waters being a wall to
them on their right hand and on their left.
23 The Egyptians pursued, and went in after them
into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh's horses,
his chariots, and his horsemen.
27 So Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea,
and the sea returned to its wonted flow
when the morning appeared;
and the Egyptians fled into it,
and the Lord routed the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.
28 The waters returned and covered the chariots
and the horsemen and all the host of Pharaoh
that had followed them into the sea;
not so much as one of them remained. |
|
This is an impressive scene of the movie "The Ten Commandments."
This is a miracle.
If this is a fact, some scholars says many their ideas
I happened to know one of guessing
When Exodus time, that a legend
Continent of Atlantis fit together!
Atlantis is said that where is Santorini island in Greece
It was sunk down into the sea caused by big explosion of volcanic activity
In exact time The Mediterranean Sea runs dry momentarily
That is so very good timing that Moses could pass through the sea
After that overflow sea water flows backward
That is so very bad timing that Pharaoh army was drown to death |
|
I want to support this hypothesis
It is a very coincidence to success of Exodus |

A joke in English class
That was a class to prepare for an examination
English teacher was a senior
Formal and a little serious
English of examination is not fun
Every student in the class hear their teacher's lesson
Nobody question
It is not need to do so
Though, this teacher said a joke |
|
Japanese man is a good speaker
He is a small guy
He meets with an American guy
American is a tall man
American sees below on him
"Are you a Japanese?"
"Chinese?"
"Or Sudanese?"
Sudanese is native people in the Sudan in Africa
And Japanese said back to American
"Are you a Yankee?"
"Monkey?"
"Or Donkey?"
A teacher spoke the pronunciation with uplift so that
All of the students burst out laughing
Then a teacher is end to this joke
"American admired who was a good English speaker" |
|
In a moment a class begins study
They have the university entrance examination later
By the way, is this joke fun of for American?

The month of 7 in 1999
His real name is Michahael De Nostradame
(1503~1566) in France.
I watched a TV program "Nostradamus" yesterday.
Nostradamus-researchers in Japan discussed in the program.
A subject for discussion was the month of 7 in 1999 "Armageddon."
Somehow, July means August in a calendar in those days.
There are some 160 books, which has written on Nosradamus in Japan.
Every book insists their opinion.
At the beginning a third person attend in this program was questioned by MC
"Do you believe Nostradumus? And if you have a plan to travel, do you stop that between (July ~
November)?"
"Yes" was 12/50 members. After Nostadamus-researchers discussion, it is some ridiculous talk.
Finally check again decrease into 5/50.
Anyway we reached to a conclusion on a prophet Nostradamus. I will look on calmly.
The month of 7~8 (July ~ August).

Edgar Cayce's 8 predictions
A sleeping prophet Edgar Cayce
He is called that a biggest prophet in this century
His physical reading treats many kinds of sick
That Cayce also left some reading on eschatology
Next item shows that sign till 1998
1 The devastated earth quake, tectonic movement
happens in the west of America
2 The south of South Carolina and Georgia becomes extinct
3 All of the part of Japan go under the sea
4 The north of Europe die out in a moment
5 The water in the Five Lakes dry up
6 The new earth is lift up every direction in Atlantic ocean
7 Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York is wiped out
To compare with Nosradamus, it is rather concrete
But these prophecies is still not done
Cayce foretells these symptoms will be developing till 1998
He does not say that will be completed till 1998
However it seems to me an ambiguous prediction
I did not hear any sign about these symptoms so far
So, I don't think Edgar Cayce is qualified for a prophet in this century |
