I'm combining the two concerts because there isn't that much to tell. The whole scene was getting played out and I was running out of groupie fuel. After the picture in Chicago, there wasn't much of a conquest anymore.

We camped out for tickets which happened to go on sale the same time as Janet Jackson tickets. The seats really didn't matter, though, since we forced our way to the front. The concert was just okay. House of Love opened for him (are they even around anymore?). I don't know if it was because we have seen him so many times or the tour just was tired and played out. After the first concert, we had a car debate. We ended up going to the Video Bar and talking with some of the band from House of Love.

Al & I after the second show

The second show was a little bit better mainly because Travis and I amused ourselves by making fun of other people. You can have only so many goth kids without laughing. Afterward, Peter had a special "getaway car", so we didn't even have time to follow him, but his trusty personal assistant, Al (used to be in Concrete Blonde), was out back. He showed us the outfits Peter wore during the concert. We offered to take him back to the hotel and amazingly enough he agreed. I really didn't know where the Hyatt Regency was, but I wasn't about to let on. We got lost. Eventually, I found my way there and we dropped him off. Peter was outside with his wrist all bandaged up. I thought about getting out of the car and running over to him, but I was tired and didn't feel like bugging him for another picture, autograph, whatever! Travis and I thought about going back in the morning, but we never made it. Ta da - the end of Peter Murphy groupiness.

I do have a some more groupie paraphernalia from the Cocteau Twins, His Name Is Alive, and Stanley Jordan...
