I also purchased a new spark plug (actually, they sold only as a pack of two). As per the manual, I purchased an NGK CR7HS.

    The manual actually calls for a C7HS, but these are no longer manufactured by NGK, and have been replaced by the CR7HS model. The "R" designation signifies that a "Resistor" has been intergrated in the plug design and construction, to help reduce the emissions of electrical noises.

    This was pretty "straight forward"... but...

    As we noticed when we first viewed the bike before purchasing it, the electrical connector (cap) on the spark plug wire was missing.

    I visited my local auto parts store (where I purchased the spark plugs above), and from the NGK catalog,
    I purchased an "NGK LD05FP" spark plug cap. I selected that part number from the table and pictures below.
