Infant Jesus of Prague
-----------------------------------------------------------
We passed beautiful Austrian scenery when we went to Prague, Czech Republic. It was a cold day. It was a long happy drive. Do your thing. Magsayaw, kumanta, dumaldal, magpa-picture-taking.
Although our bus had a restroom, we still had a restroom stop kasi maliit daw yung restroom namin. When Ling herself used the roadside restroom, we had a guarantee that it was clean. Oo nga, complete facilities pa.
Lhet put Ling at the top of the list that we submitted to the border inspectors of the Czech Republic. They were surprised to see the ambassador in a T-shirt, pants, rubber shoes and with no accompanying security personnel. We were asked to go down very briefly and that was that.
Our guide Richard waited for us at the approach to the bridge. He showed us a little of Prague before we alighted the bus to eat lunch. Walk walk and then we were seated and eager for the goulash which was soooo delicious! Talaga. May ini-offer sa amin na good for the digestion daw. Wine. Masarap. Nalasing ako nang konti.
Walk walk again to the Our Lady Lady of Victory Church to pay homage to the Infant Jesus of Prague. Umiiyak ako sa pasasalamat sa Infant Jesus of Prague kaya naiwan nila ako sa loob ng simbahan.
Dali-dali na lang ako pumunta sa souvenir shop to get yung bilin ni Ruth Villareal saka some tiny charms for people in our office. When I got out of the church, naghihintay na ang group. Sina Zeny K pala went to see the priest (bilin ng anak niyang priest din) who gave them big prints of the Infant Jesus of Prague for each of our group plus books for them. Thank you, thank you.
Walk walk walk to Charles Bridge. Hawak sa estatwa para makabalik uli sa Prague. Ikot at balik halfway sa bridge para makabalik uli dun. Picture taking galore.
The guide comes back at exactly 4 pm. Walk walk to the center of the town. Ginaw! Brrr! Went to the Tourist Information office to buy a map. Ops! The sales gentleman will not accept anything except 39 korunas. Points me to the bank across the street. I went to the WC downstairs instead and requested korunas change to my 2 euros from the attendant. Ayos! I told him where I got the korunas and he smiled. Gave me a free brochure of the city sights, too.
I was looking for a place to sit down. Joined them in the café which soon became headquarters for the shoppers. Ataboy handed me a garnet souvenir. "Birthstone mo yan, di ba?" Thank you, thank you.
We were already assembled near the clock when Noel insisted that Maripaz and I pose in that part of the square which we have not yet seen.
5:45 pm and the guide is not yet back. He appeared at 5 minutes before 6 pm so Elmer suggested that we wait 5 minutes for the clock to strike 6 pm. Ayun, lumabas yung mga figures. We all clapped.
Natapilok si Daddie as we walked from the square. Noel lovingly assisted her walk for the rest of the way.
So many sights to see, so little time. All exquisite. Busog na busog ang mata ko. Espie and I sang "The Sound of Music" songs as we walked, with Daddie and Noel doing the second voice.
Collection again to give Richard a tip. He was a good guide. A lot of waving goodbye to him and he to us.
Zeny K distributed the Infant Jesus prints from the priest. She and Maripaz also handed to us the prayer and the rosary and the novena (Spanish pa nga, naubos daw yung English) smaller prints. Thank you, thank you. Maganda sa recipient ang tumanggap ng anything na bigay about the Infant Jesus of Prague. "Bakit di mo agad sinabi?", tanong ni Jojo. Siempre dapat kusang ibinigay.
Time for show and tell at the bus. Daddie carefully opened her purchases for us to see. Wooden nesting dolls in different colors. Glass birds in different sizes. Accessories, too. "O, ano, di ba?" she would model. Nakakatuwa ang mga finds niya!
Jojo had a cameo sorrounded with garnets na ternong-terno dun sa garnet earrings ni Ruth F. Puede sanang maghiraman kung parehong bansa lang ang tirahan nila.
Merong single jewelry set purchase na higit pa sa total baon ko for the trip ang halaga!
Mahaba ang biyahe pauwi sa Café Brandl, where dinner awaits us.
