Yes, I absolutely love music. I'm mad about it. I'll listen to most stuff but my absolute favourite is Brit Indie/Rock!
Here, in no particualar order, is a list of my fave bands
Bis' front woman, Manda Rin (real name Amanda McKinnon) is one cool chick! She wears cute little kitsch clothes, has a doll-like smile and her unmistakable, short-but-below-the-ear haircut - which makes her look pretty much like a little girls' dolly! But beware! She's a feisty one, knows what she wants - but goes about it the fun way!!
Catch - these guys ROCK!
Wayne, Toby and Ben had a big
hit with 'Bingo' a few years back
but haven't been much on the scene since. They are kind of poppy indie.
Bis - they are non-commercial pop but with a bit more of a raw edge.
'Punky pop' is what they've been described as.
With names like John Disco, Manda Rin and Sci-Fi Steven I reckon it gives them an oddball/cool image
What can I say about Catatonia?
I guess I'll split this into 2 parts. that being the band and they lead singer. OK, about the band.
They always saying how proud they are to be Welsh.
But I know a secret. They're not 100% Welsh. The guitarist Owen Powell was born in England! However his parents are Welsh (hence the name) so I guess that makes up for it!
They are one of the coolest bands to ever grace the planet!
OK, this is the wicked, the one and only Cerys Matthews! Well, let's put it this way:
After debut album Way Beyond Blue, it seemed as though Catatonia's Cerys Matthews was destined footnote-hood at best. Then the single Mulder & Sully rogared the zeitgeist. Follow-up Road Rage was nothing special as a song until the chorus, where she rolled her 'r's with a mix of lasciviousness and self-confessed Welshness. Add a war cry of "I haven't had a shag for ages"; a plasterer's ability to get plastered; the knack of scrubbing up nicely and some humdinging song and, voila, a heroine for our times.
This is Teenage Fanclub when they were in the height of their career. They still make albums (and pretty good ones at that!) but are not nearly as so popular as they used to be. Esp. with this techno and dance crap that is currently being forced on the market. Grand Prix, in my opinion, being the best album they ever recorded.
Right. The Sex PIstols started the whole punk movement. Whatever punk you're listening to to now. Blink182 or whatever. It was started by the Sex Pistols. At the time the Sex Pistols did
Punk rock. that's the best way to describe Ash's sound. Founded in when Tim Wheeler (front left), Rick McMurray (back right) and Mark Hamilton (front right) were all still at school in their hometown of D, Northern Ireland. They made their first album 1977, which was full of praose from reviewers. It was then they all deceided they needed a girl in the band. Tim had seen Charlotte Hatherley (back left) play guitar with her band Nightnurse. Decieding she was 'the one for the band' he got her number and left her a message on her answering message. And as they say, the rest is history. I wonder where Nightnurse are today?!
