It is not the author's intention to write a long series
of episodes for this series. Rather, the intention is to provide a general
set-up and invite others to write episodes. Here is you chance to write
an adventure story the way you think it should be written. Try it. Be creative.
Go wild. Get a little out of control. Just avoid the outright pornographic.
If your story would earn an R rating its okay. If it would get an X, then
it may still be okay but that will be a judgement call. Perhaps there can
be a restricted acces site for the X's. Have the characters get into whatever
perilous adventures you think they should face. Its not likely any of this
will ever get onto actual film or video tape, but, who knows.
In the 38th century a space cruiser with some 300 people aboard has escaped an attack by space pirates while crossing a remote region of the galaxy. In the process of maneuvering to escape the pirates, the ship ws damaged, resulting in a forced landing on an uncharted planet. The ship is no longer flyable although many useful tools and supplies are salvaged (a la Swiss Family Robinson and other well known stories). The people must now try to survive on the planet until discovered and rescued.
The planet is mostly rain forest, with lush plant growth. However, because the soil is poor the ability to grow crops is very limited. Therefore, the 300 people must split up into groups of 10 to 20, each living a few miles from the next, in order to grow enough food. They can communicate by radio but rallyting to each other's aid takes time (i.e. it will be awile before the cavalry comes charging over the hill).
The planet is uncharted in earth's records but not necessarily in those of potential unfriendlies or pirates. There are lots of opportunities for encounters with hostiles of various sorts. The planet also has plenty of natural hazards such as volcanoes, dangerous creatures, quicksand swamps, etc. (i.e. they can run into anything seen in Tarzan).
The pilot episode depicts the encounter in space with the pirates, the crash landing, and some initial encounters with natural hazards. When writing subsequent episodes it should be assumed that the larger group has already broken up into smaller groups. Episodes may involve entirely new characters or those introduced in the pilot. However, they may not replace the roles filled by the principals introduced in the pilot.
Principal characters introduced in the pilot.
