Postcard cover - Witchetty grub and acacia root

Beautiful stars. It is ruddy cold!!!!!

I have trouble keeping my feet warm during the night. When I wake up at 6:30 am (still completely dark) I find that this is because ice has formed on the end of my sleeping bag. At 7 am I go have a hot (short) shower, then head to the lookout to watch sunrise. It's pretty enough on the rock, I wish I was closer to the Olgas which hang rich in the pink edges of night. My sleeping bag is now totally iced. I hang it on a line and go for a free guided walk around one of the lodge gardens. Domenic tells me many interesting things - at 8 am I am the only walker. I go make breakfast then go for another free walk in a different set of gardens. I then repeat the walk on my own, with camera. Today is sort of about time-killing and exploration. Oh, and buying toothpaste. Mine has gone solid, and developed a hole in the tube. When I go to the supermarket, I will also look for warm socks.
