My angel pins are created with the raku firing process. The raku finish is created with the assistance from the elements of nature. This style of pottery was used in conjunction with the earlier Zen Buddhist tea ceremony of Japan.

 

The clay is bisque fired then fired for a second time with special raku glazes. The clay is removed and placed in materials from nature like leaves or saw dust. When the material starts to burn a cover is place over the smoldering material which absorbs the smoke and gives the clay the rich colors that is a characteristic of the raku process. Each raku piece has it's own personality with its beautiful raku finish. My angel pins have the unique beauty of this finish. Although the texture give the pins a solid, heavy looking appearance, the pins are very light in weight.

They are groups of three so you can see how they are alike but are still very different in colors. Each raku angel comes with it's own card with information about the raku process.

Pins average from 2" to 3" and have their own unique qualities. Quanity discounts available.
