Someday?

Alone I sit,
in an empty room.
A park outside my window.
There the flowers bloom
while hand-in-hand
lovers stroll along
amidst the pigeons and sparrows
singing the same old song;
over and over and over again
I am led astray.
No sooner do I find the one,
than they are taken away.

Why am I filled
with emotion beyond compare
and left with no one to talk to
but the cold and silent air?
"Someday" they tell me.
Someday indeed!
When that someday does arrive
I doubt that I will need
another to share my hopes and dreams,
for they will all be gone...
and I will be left alone again
to love oblivion.
