I am a Christian knight in shining armor

           One of my handles in chat is "a Christian knight in shining armor," so I thought I would write something to the effect of what being a knight means (all thanks to my wonderful friend Kelly aka BBJBud). First of all, I added the bit about shining to make my handle more like a fairy tale. Kind of my dream...to be a knight in shining armor to some woman.

           He (a knight) would follow the code of chivalry which began with an oath of loyalty to his lord (or his Lord), then he must follow the rules of warfare which were (1)do not attack an unarmed knight (2)fight to protect, not to destroy and (3)fight with your whole heart. His third duty was to find a fair lady in need of a champion.

1. an oath of loyalty to his lord (or his Lord)

           I have pledged my alliegance and my life to Jesus Christ, my savior and Lord. In everything I do, I attempt to glorify and uplift my God and my Lord. He is: my life, my hope, my peace, my love, my joy, my everything. Without Him and His love I would be nothing.

2. he must follow the rules of warfare

  1. do not attack an unarmed knight

           This is something I defintely don't do. lol. Anyway, I find that it is better never to attack anyone.

  2. fight to protect, not to destroy

           This is something I also do. Since I do not attack anyone, any and all of my fighting is done in order to protect and uplift anyone whom I can. Most, probably all, of my fighting is done against the only thing I hate in this entire universe and that is Satan. I hate the devil and I do everything I can to keep his hands off of me and off of anyone else whom I can.

  3. fight with your whole heart

           This is something I also do. Since all my fighting is done against my only enemy, the devil, then I have to do it with all my might. For if I do not, then he will have the victory. So, every time I am forced with a situation I must fight, I immediatly pray to God to give me the strength and to help me give it my all. I fight with everything in me every time I am faced in a battle with satan.

3. find a fair lady in need of a champion

           This is something that I have not done, but am constantly looking for. I am looking for anyone whom I can help, or assist and that I consider my duty as a Christian. I am also constantly looking for that one "fair lady" who I am too marry.


           And that is why I decided to get the name "a Christian knight in shining armor." And yes, as everyone, I am not perfect and sometimes fail in doing the foremention, but I am trying my hardest. I pray that God allows me to become fully what He wants me to be.
