Jesus' Sacrifice

I've been thinking a lot lately about what Jesus went through on the day He was crucified. And how little of what really happened many I meet seem to have grasped. They all seem to make fun of His sacrifice or belittle it. They don't seem to realize the true pain that Jesus suffered.
Go through the bible account once more. You can read it at any of the 4 gospels: Matthew 26-27, Mark 15-16, Luke 23-24, and John 19. Think about the physical effects of all the things that go on. Just think about it.
So, what importance does this have in our lives? Very much importance. It is important because His sacrifice was for our lives and if we don't realize how special (and, not to mention, painful) His sacrifice was, then we cannot appreciate His love for us. And you know what that means... a life without an appreciation of His love is a life lived without joy, a life without peace, a life not lived in His love. We cannot live a successful Christian life with that.
I have written a poem about Jesus' sacrifice. About what happened to Him. It is here.
