Biker Scum!
Here is my pony, a 1981 Yamaha XJ750rh
Seca. I bought it in June of '95 for $1,000 with 11,500 miles on the clock.
I bought it off of my next-door
neighbor who had let it sit for a few years. Some new carbs and pipes off
of a junked parts bike (an '83, if anybody needs an engine or other assorted
parts) and it was as good as new (mostly).
I have a story about my (so far) one lay-down.
If you want to learn about riding, TAKE A MOTORCYCLE SAFETY FOUNDATION
Rider's Safety Course. you can find one in your area by calling
(800)447-4700. Call early though, classes fill fast. If you can't
register for a class, find out about the site's walk-on procedures.
I've collected some info on touring, if that's your bag.
For all sorts of riding info, read rec.motorcycles. Trust me,
there's occasionally some useful information there, and few informed
questions will be flamed (but I recomend asbestos undies anyway, bikers can
be an unruly lot).
