Brachypelma smithi - Mexican orange-knee

One of the most popular breeds of tarantulas. They don't burrow much, they're colorful, they're docile, and they're hardy. The downside is that they can get pricy since they're so popular and you can't import them anymore. They grow slowly, and live for 20 years.

Marawa

Marawa tends to be relatively skittish for his species, and doesn't hesitate to freak out and kick hairs. He hasn't bitten at anything yet, but he's still not one to play with.

Little Sean

This was a gift from a friend who had opted out of the tarantula business. I'd berate him as a quitter, but I'd never turn down free tarantulas. In his honor, I named this tarantula after him.

Looks like he's about due for another molt.
