Part 3: Simple Effects in Animation

The whole idea of animation is to bring something to life. There are computer programs that will do this for you, but here are a few simple ones that you can do on your own. You don't need ANY drawing skills!

1. Color Changes

The image stays the same but the colors change. This one works well on things like titles, names, and stop lights.

2. Now you see it... Now you don't !

The object fades in and out. This works great on any words or pictures.

3. Zoom!!!!!!!

The object stays the same but moves across or up and down the screen. You can make cars drive by, a plane fly, or a rocket shoot upward.

4. Twinkle

Parts of the object disappear and then reappear. Some ways to use this effect are to make a candle glow, a star twinkle or lights flash.
