aRRGHETH. Upon entering art school I was immediatly flung in amongst irrational arrays of eccentric assanine acrobats, so of course, all of us being the "weirdos" from our respective previous schools, we were now in competition with eachother for who could look the most "alternative"....or at least, I felt I was sometimes. Not that it mattered, I had a blast and still do, making up clothes for myself. These are 3 of the nifty outfits I frequented at Emily Carr during relatively tame foundation year.

At top left is the outfit I wore to Jeff Koon's birthday party....Thrilling thrilling seminars on tuesday nights after lecture, in these nice little white cubicle classrooms with no windows and florecent lighting....I really hated those classes but this one was fun, hence the smile on my face. I've always wanted a pair of those engineer overalls.

Next to that is a picture of a random skirt ensemble. (sp). My aunt Irene gave me those pink tights after I dyed my hair pink, because she said they matched my HAir....which they did, exactly, until it (the hair) started to fade out a bit. And I only have one of those navy and white striped socks ever since I made one into a sock puppet wayyy back when I was like, 7 years old....but I found that sock in the bottom of my drawer and started wearing it....this began an involuntary ritual of wearing mismatched socks....because I could only wear one navy striped sock, so I just paired it with another random knee sock....so I had all these dirty mismatched socks....it was a kind of catch 22 thing so now I always wear mismatched socks. More so out of habit now than neccesity. I bought that striped sweater at Value Village on my first date with Zane. We went to value Village for our first Date....hmmm.. it was fitting though. the shirt is a shirt I got screen printed in MOntreal, when I was seven years old. It has my picture on it....and I still wear it. I've been wearing it for 12 years. Damn, that's some good cotton!
An finally, there's me wearing the shirts me and Andria got made for the Deftones Concert we went to last december. "Chino take your shirt off" they say. We had (and still have) this thing for Chino Moreno, the lead singer....I felt a little weird wearing that shirt though...I felt kind of like some Hardcore Heavy Metal New Kids on the Block fan. We didn't want to be any part of instigating a Backstreet Boys like following for the Deftones but, well, we couldn't resist a little hormonal fun. My whole life, I've been obsessed with Converse all star high tops...I had 3 consecutive pairs during grade 3 and up, and more in grade 7 and 8, but then had a bit of a dry spell until Emily Carr began when I started hankering for a pair, but now they cost about 40 dollars as opposed to 10 bucks in 1989. On Valentines day I went to this huge annual garage sale at this international English college in North Van with my buddies and Zane, (the kids sell all their crap before they head home to JApan or wherever)....and lo and behold, I found a pair for, guess that, ten bucks! I look a little dumpy in this picture though...hmmm....
