River Life
His strength is a river,
As powerful as his love.
Simply a rock in the river,
His strength wears her down.
Smooth and soft,
She remains a pebble,
And yet his power
Keeps her adrift.
Then he plummets to the earth.
She is dragged to the bottom,
But under his current
She has a safe haven.
The Rock
The water rushed over the rock.
The rock travelled far,
But then the rock was suddenly thrown down.
The ever flowing river slowly eroded the rock away
Until the rock was all but gone,
And the waters did recede.
But that beautiful rock
Was nothing but a grain of sand.
