The Yeast Beast (and how to get rid of it)
Well, first of all a yeast infection isn't hard to detect. There are all sorts of warnings about women misdiagnosing themselves. You have a yeast infection if it itches and burns and you get this cottage-cheese looking stuff--it's a whole lotta not-fun. I used to use store-bought stuff for my yeast infections, but my yeast became resistant when it didn't get totally killed off by a three-day monistat cure. There are four other methods I know of to rid yourself of the yeast infections that work just as well and are better for your body.
Garlic
(you should never have sex when you have a yeast infection, but let me tell you if you do, garlic will let you know why you shouldn't have!) Take a clove of garlic, smash it a bit to let the juices out, but not too much because it needs to retain it's shape. Insert, leave overnight. Don't worry too much about how it'll come out, you can either reach in there or just bear down on the toilet and push it out, if it won't come out that away it will come out sooner or later. From what I understand the garlic will kill the bacteria in there.
Yogurt
Clean out one of the old store-boughten plastic inserts very well and fill with real, plain, unsweetened yogurt (if it's sweetened it could cause the yeast to grow, as yeast lives off of moisture and sweets). Insert right before bedtime. You can also dip a tampon in it and insert to wear through the day. The natural bacteria in the yogurt is "good bacteria". Because I'm pretty sure any anti-bacterial will kill all bacteria, both good and bad, I suggest you first use garlic or tea tree oil and then treat with yogurt.
Tea Tree Oil
Use a natrual menstrual sponge, or coat a tampon with tea tree oil till you can smell it rather strongly and insert. (this is my favorite, as you actually smell pretty good rather than garlicy, plus you get a cool, mentholated feeling, which feels really good after itching and burning)
Keep at these methods for at least three days after all the symptoms stop. And remember girls, penises aren't immune to yeast infections, and if he gets it he can't spread it back to you again, creating a vicious cycle.
