Wishing only love,
Yet granted only pain.
Burdened memories of guilt,
With no one else to blame.

Giving only trust,
But finding only lies.
Hearts flooded with sorrow,
And tear filled eyes.

Understanding of their past,
And so much they've had to overcome.
Seemingly the more they're torn apart,
The more drawn together they become.

Being so very different,
Yet so much alike.
Make you believe in hope,
That the future looks bright.
