mystery of sleep

mystery of sleep was taken in december 1996, and marked the start of my
lucid dreaming period.
the idea behind this image was to portray the seeming unreality that is experienced within the temporary narcosis that is sleep, and to break away from jungian archetypes.
the recumbent subject is hidden behind symbolic objects, so as to be obsured from view, as one can not observe oneself when asleep.
this image is kafkaesque, as it portrays the metamorphic quality of rest and the change that occurs during this period.
