'Why I Was Pierced: Eyebrow Barbell'
Allyson Stuckless
Lithography

The text in the print says:
i got the eyebrow piercing in april, the day before my final trombone recital. i wanted something else facial and felt that a barbell in my eyebrow would be the perfect compliment for my nose. this piercing was less about "reclaiming" and rebellion, and much more about the beauty of piercings as an art form. in the right places with the right jewelry combinations, i find piercings very beautiful. the beauty is more reflective of ancient african body art, sincere and meaningful, rather than the shallow "coolness" of a pop culture.
