Serenity

Evening is drawing nigh
A dark  shade of gray covers the sky
With a patch of blue shinning through
Tree tops and mountains dipped in fresh snow
That look like a painting from long ago
There is a stream that flows down a hill
Into a meadow where time stands still
The branches on the trees are icy and glazed
You will know in an instant this must be the place
Where peace and quietness fills the air
and there is calmness everywhere
In your heart you will see
This place is Serenity

Across the mountains and far away
Dwells an enchanted cottage of yesterday
The roof top is covered with ivy vines
Around the cottage are trees of pine
The smell of hollies fill the air
There is enchantment everywhere
In the yard where the wild flowers grow
Are bushes with berries and mistletoes
In your heart you will know
There is no other place you would rather go
But to a place and another time
Where everything is heavenly divine
Where peace and harmony fills the air
And there is love everywhere
In your heart you will see
This is Serenity.
