The pieces shown here are from the beginning of a series of work which I started in late summer/early fall. They are inspired by the close-up, colour photography I was working on over the summer and were, in the beginning, simply an exercise in using pastels and the colour that I had abandoned in my Raven Series. Since that time my ideas about the series have developed a little more fully and some of my more recent efforts can be seen in Room 3 of the gallery.
