Hot and cold missed kisses

I couldn't get cold last night. I hate being hot, so it makes sense that I like to be cold. Then the wind picked up and banged on the blinds from about 330AM on. I know this because I was up at 330AM making them stop, by opening them up all the way. At 430, my husband had a programming dream and dreamt about his super pooper graphics and realized that he was getting a mid-sleep bathroom call from his unconscious mind and shut the blinds which banged intermittedly the rest of the morning until he left for work.

Then I got up and fixed them again. When I lifted them up, I saw dark gray ominous clouds gathering atop the mountains. I cursed and hurried off to shower to get on the computer to work as soon as I could. I have to shut the power off for the afternoon thunderstorms.

Then I got an email from forwarded from my husband that his boss sent to him:

As you may or may not know "the show" is coming soon Oct.1,2, and 3. You will be expected to work overtime including nights and weekends. I believe the big push will begin August 1. Jim, will call a team meeting next week and explain in detail what will be expected of us.

You need to do a full audit of your games graphics and sound requirements by Tuesday to ensure that you get them in time. Send me your lists when you have them done. Let me know if you are unsure exactly what you need to get your game to the show.

Thanks
Eugene

So there are a number of things that this email brings up.

  • Does this mean he is going to the show in Vegas?
  • Will he be taking his wife?
  • Just exactly how much overtime are we talking about here?
  • Is the overtime going to cut into our already limited sex life?
  • Does this mean that the training they were supposed to do is completely out of the picture?
  • Will I be packing kids up to Reno to visit Daddy in our old gerbil-run Subaru? (I bought a Subaru from the money from the settlement from this accident.)
  • Does this mean he is totally busted for not getting his game all done on Friday versus Monday?
  • Where can I get a maid?
I don't actually mind that he has to work. I mind missing him. It's been hard not having him a cubicle away like our old jobs. His grandparents work together and enjoy it. His parents even did for a while, too. I loved working with him and now we don't work together any more.

I just hope my arm doesn't need a cast.
