All Sugared Up

Well, the actose has been helping my sugars. I think I was hoping that if I took it, I could eat things diabetics shouldn't. I still am diabetic, however, and my sugars are dissuading me from that delusion.

Last night, I ate Mexican food, which by itself usually gives me a little high sugar because I'm a chip hound and I usually eat about one carb too many. I did that and then I came home and had a taste for chocolate. If I'd remembered to buy the no sugar added fudgesicles, I'd have been fine, but I didn't and I ate some of the ice cream in the freezer for the guys.

Anyway, last night's before bed was 144 and this morning was 123, so I'll be buying those no sugar added jobbies tonight.

Typically, my sugars have been a lot lower overall on actose, so I need to get back to my "good" routine, i.e., exercise.

The past week has been chaotic with Russell's needs and Mike's trip being on and then off. I've been ignoring my exercise regimen. Well, except for my skiing over the weekend and one walk last week. I have decided that I'm going to try some various things at the pool.

They have an exercise room there, so I thought I would like to try some light repetitive weights and alternate that with swimming over the course of the week and see how I do. I figure the boredom of the weight room isn't anything I can't kill with Creed and a CD player and getting out of the house is better than Richard Simmons screeching on my TV, exhorting me to move my ass.

I'm walking Russell to school. It's odd how I'm looking forward to spending time with him. He admitted this weekend after showing me how he effortlessly skied down the hill that he does notice how the meds help. I noticed how he didn't whine and how he listened to his instructor. Of course, I noticed how his instructor had changed this week after annoying the snot out of last week's instructor. (Guilt, guilt, guilt!)

I, on the other hand, notice that after skiing the only thing that helps is vioxx or ibuprofen. Hopefully, hitting the pool will help, too! I have this fantasy of being able to ski all day and not being a miserable sore wreck the next day.
