Okay, so I'm too tired to do the dress, so I'm typing off something quick here in the hopes that I can stave off a lapse into unconsciousness.
I spent the morning running errands in Vacaville. I went to Michael's and got the materials to make my veil there and then picked up the tulle (the netting stuff)at Joanne's fabrics. I figured if Pauline was having misgivings and had to ask Steve about whether or not I could wear her veil that I didn't really want to wear it. It would feel weird to wear something that someone I loved felt so off about. I also wasn't too keen on it because it is one of these veils on a big ass hair comb things and I don't have long enough hair any more to pull it off and not have my hair falling out and looking like shit. Well, that and I'm fundamentally opposed to shellacking my hair. The one I made is a fake flower head wreath. It's got ivory flowers, little green leaves and satin ribbon roses all woven together. I got some of the ribbon that I am using in the lacing of the dress and hung that down the back over the netting, so it's looking pretty faboo. I also picked up the candles for the two candles lighting one big candle part of our ceremony and cruised by target to return a duplicate shower gift. I picked up the changing table pad while I was there and then got back to Davis at noon. I ate and then Robin called and we talked particulars. She and Ken are bringing their video camera to tape the wedding and some of the reception for us. I ordered a cake at this yumyum German bakery -- a triple chocolate mousse cake -- white chocolate, dark chocolate and milk chocolate. It's white frosting with white chocolate shavings and we'll stick fresh flowers on it for decoration. Mike is going to only work a half day tomorrow. He needs to get some dress shoes for himself and Bear and I need to work on the dress because I haven't done squat on it. The afternoon was spent drooling on my pillow in a semi-conscious state and putting together my wedding head gear. Somewhere in there, we need to get to a doctor's appointment for a non stress test. Hopefully, by the end of the day, I'll still know my name. The incredibly good news is that I found Russell's suit from last easter and I won't have send a grumpy hubby guy to buy Bear new dress pants for the wedding. Yippee!! Tomorrow is strictly a shoe and belt run, for the Mikester. I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed with stuff to do. I'm in that place that exists somewhere between "HOLY SHIT!", "WOW!" and complete and total exhaustion. |
