Victory is MINE!

Yesteday, the baby went back to her same old schedule. She ate nursed once or twice heavily in the morning and then once every 2-3 hours and went to bed at 10 and woke up at 5AM when the neighbor's alarm went off. Same old, same old.

It appears that the nursing marathon has ceased for the moment. It's remarkable.

I could actually pass the baby to someone else yesterday and not have her scream her head off. My mother-in-law loved it and I positively adored it.

I'm just not so darned madonna-like that I actually enjoy giving my body up for this other human being all the time. Don't get me wrong, I like nursing her for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that she's my sweet girl, but DAMN, I like my body to myself at least for a few stolen moments in a day. And that makes it hard on my husband, because when the baby finally gives it back to me, I'm apt to want to keep it to myself.

And I like sharing it with my husband, who REAAALLY likes that. We finally had the house clean and both kids asleep last night. So we cranked up the air conditioner and cuddled. A lot.

I think I need to do that more often. Last night, it felt like it'd been so damned long that I had to remember what to do. He's had to take way too many showers alone lately. Way too many. What sucks is that I've had to nurse the baby way too many times when I've wished I was showering with him.

We're going to see about getting Pauline to watch the kids for a date.

MIL brought her hubby2B with her to see the baby. It was cute because she spent the afternoon with us and said they wouldn't be coming through, but I guess he really wanted to see that baby. So he drove out of his way and they dropped in on us. I was surprised. I also was reminded what a sweet bear of a man he is and how much he loves her.

Despite the puky start to yesterday, things went OK. Today I actually have to work though, which is hard to get adjusted to. Especially, because it's been over 100 for days and I haven't left the house in all that time. I actually am going to see sunshine today and I don't know what to do about it.

I guess sunscreen would be appropriate.
