My parents sent us money and by the time we paid for the various car crap and I had bought Bear underwear, shoes, socks and a couple of shirts that didn't ride up his belly, we're back to broke.
We know we won't have to pay the deductible because this woman is clearly at fault, so the insurance company said that they waive the deductible in that case, if she's uninsured. Thank goodness! But the wage garnishment saga continues. I couldn't get the woman at UC Davis to let me pick up a copy of my pay check stub; she insisted on mailing it, so I didn't get the damned thing until the weekend. The problem is that I get paid on the first (8 days away) and the lawyer's office has 10 days to respond. They've already assured me that they won't contest my exemption, so no worries there, but in the interim, my paycheck will be garnished for $500 and the sherriff's office will hold the money until all this stinking paperwork ploughs its way through the courts. I might get the $500 back around April. *sigh* The kicker to all of this: I filled out all the forms and then went to print out this one dumb thing I needed and the printer conveniently ran out of ink. All I can think is PLEASE SHOOT ME NOW! Add to the mix that it rained cats and dogs yesterday. I had this soggy flipping orange tabby land in the middle of my windshield and then a St. Bernard landed on our trunk. It was freaky and simply my imagination, but wet nonetheless. So I'm out in the rain with Mike trying to find a stupid printer cartridge and they're all out at the one store we try, so I drop him at school and go out to get my insulin refilled and pick up a cartridge. By this time, I'm in space. I get to the pharmacy, pick up some TP and my insulin and drive home. I get home and realize that DUH! I forgot the stupid printer cartridge. Then I think I should go get one and yet, I have to eat and do all this other stuff. I eat and then fall asleep petting the cat in the chair and in a panic, rush off an email to Mike to pick one up for me and I head out the door to get Russell. I blew off aqua aerobics. There's something sick and wrong about doing a swim class out in the freezing cold wind and rain, even if the pool is heated. I had called in my sugars and when I did, I asked the nurse if I was bad for contemplating blowing off aqua aerobics. She assured me that I was not, so I gratefully went and got Bear. Mike got home last night and gave me the cartridge, so I managed to get the paperwork to the sherriff's today, but I'm so screwed on the money. I'm scared to death. You know you're broke when you're contemplating government cheese. I'm thinking about seeing how much is involved in applying for WIC at least for next month. At least to be able to buy basics like cereal and milk and cheese. My sugars have started going haywire, but I would guess that's from stress. Ya think? |
