I wasn't feeling good last night. I've kind of had this post nasal drip thing going on and it's sucked. This morning was even worse, so I stayed home. Of course, then I worked all morning getting this web page put together and tweaking on it and fiddling and then Mike said he was coming home and I was thinking about how tired I had been feeling, so I laid down to rest and conked out cold and drooly on a pillow until I heard him come through the door. After lunch, I was going to go out and take all these pictures, but it didn't happen, so I simply went to sleep all afternoon. I was so wiped out. I have all these wonderful things I could and should have been doing, but the body took over, thankfully. I did get to talk to Canon Marcia yesterday with Mike. We went and looked at the chapel and talked about how to set it up and it's going to be so wonderful and intimate. I can barely wait. We picked passages from the Bible that mentioned children and loving children. I figure if I'm going to be this pregnant at the altar, it's probably a good thing to mention kids. I think I can buy some satin ribbon for decorating things myself and I'll buy some potted flowers or herbs for decorating in the church. We're going to bring a CD player of some kind for music, though I actually wouldn't mind the silence. I know that there will be children there and the noise they will make will be just as lovely as music. Canon Marcia told me that I should have someone stand with me. I would have liked to have it be Pauline, but I've known Robin longer and in some ways we are closer than Pauline and I are. I think that we've been angry and forgiven each other makes our relationship stronger and that is almost more important when considering a marriage, really. I called Robin last night and today she called and she's going to be my matron of honor. We've discussed clothes briefly and she has a dress she thinks would work. She'll be up for the baby shower, so I'll show her what I've got and she'll pull something from her closet. I also called Katie and asked her and her family to join us for the wedding. I also asked if she'd help me out with the dress because she's a much better seamstress than I am, so I'm going to call her tomorrow and then get together with her on Saturday and we'll look over the fabrics and pattern and she'll give me her best suggestions and we'll see what we can wrangle. I've had trouble sewing a similar fabric to the overlay fabric, so I think I have to buy a smaller needle and I may need some kind of special thread. Katie is the kind of person who would know though, so I'll leave it to her expertise. And last night we got the rings. And miracle of miracles, they both fit perfectly. But when we saw them, I think our eyes glittered more than the rings. Mike and I just kept kind of hanging on each other after the rings got here. It must be the honeymoon thing starting early! |
