CONSERVATION OF ENERGY

In a mechanical system where there is no loss energy due to friction or interaction with things outsie of the system, the amount of energy will remain a costant throughout. e.g If an object is fired up from the ground with a velocity v, it will have kinetic engery equal to 1/ 2m v2 initially, as it does work against gravity, this energy will be converted to gravitational potential energy, until at its peak height the kinetic energy at the bottom is entirely converted to potential energy. 1/ 2m v2 = m g h.
