Hi! ;) I'm Stephanie Reeves and this is my story. I must tell you that I have no official position in the money making process of the copyrighted stories and such. (And most likely I don't have the permission either.) So if there's anyone out there who works for Hanna-Barbera, I have two things to ask of you: #1. PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! Don't sue! I'm only a teenager! I don't have any big amounts of cash flow! And #2. Could you possibly tell me how to apply for a job there? I have a great interest in the art of animation, and my friends tell me that I'm good at it too! :) Note: In Jonny's Golden Quest, Jade Kenyon Bannon was introduced as Jessie's mother. I don't think that Hanna-Barbera has killed her off. I just made it up. (Shhhh...don't tell anyone, but that's what fan-fiction is for!) Another note: This is just a short story, so don't expect it to have a lot of "action" in it. THE REAL ADVENTURES OF JONNY QUEST: My Tornado Jessie was nervous, very nervous. She was looking out the window in the dead of night. She had tossed the translucent curtains of the study aside, they were now resting on her silhouette. Even though she knew she wasn't supposed to be. She could hardly see what the color of the sky was through the window. * I wish it would go away. * She thought, * I don't want it to hurt what family I have left. I wish it would just go away. * She thought over and over, after all it was only in her mind, so she thought. The rest of the "Quest Team" is posted in a downstairs basement, each person holding a lantern. Jonny is sitting to the right of Hadji who has just come in and sat down. Dr. Quest is sitting patently listening to the noise outside. Race is no where to be seen as well as Jessie. "Where is Jessie?" Dr. Quest thought aloud. "I'm afraid I do not know my Dr. Quest, maybe she's with Race." Race was coming in the door as they were finishing their conversation, "What? I haven't seen Jessie for a while, I thought she was with you two." Looking at Jonny and Hadji. He paused and then said a little angry and worried, "She might have gone back upstairs." At that moment Dr. Quest decided to suggest to make a search party, "Well then, we're not much use down here are we? Let's go get Jessie." "I'll check the study." Said Jonny starting up the stairs. "I'll check her room." Said Race, practically running up the stairs. "I guess that leaves you and me to search the rest doesn't it Hadji?" Dr. Quest said pointing up the staircase to Hadji. Jessie?" Jonny said softly, "Are you here?" He looked around the room. "Uh-huh." Said a soft voice from the opposite side of the study. Jonny stared at Jessie in awe, here was a girl braver than any other girl he had known in his whole life, but this time when he looked at Jessie she seemed frightened. Her eyes were wide with fear, so he thought it, as she was looking out the window. * Fear, * he thought. * What a powerful emotion. * He had experienced fear before and he hated what it had felt like. Jessie just stood there looking out of the window, breathing deeply, trying to hide her convulsions. "You know," She began a little shakily. "My mother was killed by a tornado." "Jess, do you feel okay? Estella is not dead, you should know that." Jessie became enraged at his words, for he didn't understand, "NO JONNY! ESTELLA, MY BIRTH MOTHER, JADE KENYON BANNON!!!" She hushed up quickly after that and sank to the floor. She curled her arms over her knees and buried her head while she shook convulsively, and she just cried. Not out of anger, or pain, but of confusion. * Why my mother? Why??? * Jonny wasn't mad at Jessie for yelling at him, in fact he sort-of understood why she had yelled. He sat down beside her, talking. She finally calmed down a little, still trying to calm her convulsions. "I'm scared," She said in a low tone. " I'm scared I'll end up like my mother." She started to cry once more. "Come on Jess," Jonny said, trying to cheer her up. "Let's go back to the basement." She shook her head violently from side to side getting dizzier and dizzier, tears streaming down her face. She would cry even if the tears burned her cheeks, she didn't care it made her feel better. Jonny talked to her softly, he had known the feeling when his mother died. He remembered that he had cried every night over losing his mother, he knew that crying wouldn't bring her back. Hadji and Jessie had helped him get over that. * It's the least I can do for a friend. * He thought. "It'll be all right Jess." Jonny extended his hand to help her off the floor and began to walk out of the study. Jonny had stopped by the kitchen earlier on the way to the basement to get Jessie a towel to wipe her face with. Near the top of the basement stairs Jessie had stopped her convulsions and set down the towel. She stopped just before she reached the stairs. "Thanks for calming me down back there Jonny I guess I kind'a lost it." Jessie said with a smile tugging at the corner of her mouth. "It was nothing," Jonny said starting her back down the stairs, "I've had experiences like that before too!" He smiled his usual, goofy grin which always made Jessie laugh. As they went down the stairs she could hear the storm moving away farther and farther... If you have not liked my story I'm sorry. I'm not much of a writer (I'm more the artist type! :-)) If you have enjoyed it, wonderful! I don't do a lot of writing.
