Our Times
Poem by Ann Lewis
This day and age just can't be right
Things I see about me day and night
Young people begging outside the big shops
Men talking of all the jobs that have been lost
Old folk wondering how to get through the day
Then I take a really good looke around me and I say
Than You Lord for people who care
Those who know these folks are there
The ones who give shelter for the night
And make old folk feel alright
Who feed the hungry, tend the sick
And above all give us time to think.
