Afraid In The Dark
It is dark and I am afraid.
It is dark, I am afraid.
But the dark is not what frightens me.
Nor the things lurking in the night.
It is what lies beyond.
In the darkness or the dark.
What darkens my heart.
There evil lies, wearing a friendly face.
There sin lurks, it gladly helps me escape.
There the bad men roam, they beat me as we laugh.
There apathy beckons, I reast into its trap.
There I will be destroyed, I welcome it.
It is dark, I'm so afraid.
Will light never come?
The night will never end.
The day will never find me.
