MY PICTURE ALBUM
By: Scriptress
I am a picture held secure
In strong daddy arms,
Plump bare bottom shiny
Wet from morning bath.I am a picture, a toddler.
In black and white, my
Blonde hair curled special,
The camera essay begins.I am a picture in white
Satin, veil, train trailing.
Committed, full of hope,
Unknowingly promised.I am a picture statuesque,
Tall, holding a picket sign.
Yes, it says, I am here
Between George and Abe.I am a picture coquetish,
Elfin face peering thru foliage.
Family days, better days,
"Catch me," it seems to say.I am picture, donkey and
Me laughing, fence sitting.
Later, just my cap and gown
Shown through son's hug. Many pictures, all knowing,
All secure in my service to
Victims of domestic abuse.
Secure in my chosen path.If I were a captioned picture
It would read "Not Guilty."
Ended trust, ended security,
Ask me, I'll write the story.Hips broad, waist disappearing,
Doors narrow, knees protest,
Hand-holds, steps slow.
Gone the lithe grace.I am the picture of old.
