For those of you who have shared in Micki's story we have an update for you. I know we haven't updated Micki's page in quite a while, but she keeps us really busy.

Micki is doing awesome! She is learning a few ASL signs. The one thing she does know very well is the sign for eat. The other day we were in the store getting some soda and we had stopped to take a look at something. All of the sudden Micki started signing EAT, EAT, EAT. We looked down at her then she reached out and touched a bag of Cheetos then signed EAT, EAT, EAT. (By the way Cheetos are her favorite snack food.) We are trying to get her to include the sign for please along with it, but we are just starting with that.

Micki goes to occupational and physical therapy once a week. She loves going and really likes her therapists, Mandy and Karen. They say she has a sensory integration disorder and they are helping her all they can. She is making a lot of progress and is trying real hard.

Micki also goes to preschool four days a week. She loves her class. She is in a mixed class (some kids with special needs and some without). All the kids really love Micki and want to learn some of her signs so they can communicate with her. Her cousin attends the same class with her and helps her out.

Micki loves to give everyone hugs and kisses. She loves to go to Grandma and Grandpa's house. She also loves to go to the park and swing. She could stay on the swing forever.

On the adoption scene, we are probably looking at the end of this year or beginning of next for everything to be final. We hope it comes soon so she will legally be ours. She already is our in our hearts.!
