        Search Method

I thought that to find pages relevant to method and theory journals would be a good starting point as these would contain pages relevant to the subject. I first of all used Yahoo again, and typed in 'archaeology journals'. This gave me a list of several categories, many of which more relevant to anthropology - Yahoo is an american site so therefore the archaeology side has a distinct cultural anthropology side. I picked the Social Science: Anthropology and Archaeology: Archaeology: Journals category, as this was the most archaeologically themed one. There were listed many journals, including some listed on the CTA bibliography. However I picked two Assemblage and Current Archaeology. I picked these for similar reasons I picked other pages for FAS. These are internet based publications, not just fronts for journals that just want subscribers. There are complete articles complete with images, diagrams and other resources. I then tried looking for something more than a web-page. I typed in 'Archaeological database', but used Hotbot so I could search for that exact phrase. It came up with a list of sites. However I clicked on the Comparative Archaeology Web site. This is a fairly comprehensive site which has articels, databases and news of a subject that is also fairly relevant to the module in hand.It is still being constructed so there isn't a wide range of data in the form of databases at the moment. Arch-Theory is a mailing list on which people can discuss archaeological theory via the e-mail. By following the link, there is an e-mail address by which one can sign up to the mailing list. This is part of the archaeologic.com site which is one of the most comprehensive on the internet. It contains a source directory for other mailing lists, extensive links, jobs, articles and even languages. Quite simply, if there's anyhthing archaeological worth finding on the internet, this site will have a link to it.
