The purpose of this paper is to compare our test subject, Ryan, with various civilizations from the beginning of time to the Romans. If our test succeeds then our subject will know what things he has in common with the various civilizations. We will follow our test subject around for approximately twenty years and gather data about what our subject does. After the twenty years are complete, we will compile the information and present it.

The Dawn of Time . . .

Some people believe in the theory of evolution. Along with that theory comes the theory that Cro, the magnum man and Nee, the Andrathal man existed. Nee was animal-like and so is our test subject Ryan. Nee had very primitive tools, but Ryan prefers modern day things like cars and computers. Nee didn't have much of a language. Nee grunted and snorted a lot in some sort of communication. Ryan grunts and roars. Cro would also speak unintelligibly. Ryan loves to speak in such a way that people can't understand him. Cro didn't have common table manners or utensils. Ryan prefers to use silverware to keep his hands clean while he eats. Cro had to go out and hunt for his food with spears, the most hunting Ryan has to do is in the grocery store. Cro made little statues to worship. Ryan makes IRC scripts, but doesn't worship them. Cro usually had long hair and unshaven beards. Ryan has long hair and an unshaven beard.

Mesopotamia . . . boy, is that a big word . . .

Mesopotamia was one of the first major civilizations, thus the reason we call them the "cradle of civilization." Mesopotamians were ruled by a priest-king. A president rules Ryan. They believed in several gods. Ryan believes in one God. They were the inventors of the wheel. Ryan gets to school using four wheels. They also invented a form of writing called cuneiform. Ryan probably could not write this paper if there were no form of writing. Sumer, in Mesopotamia, is a marsh land. Ryan lives in Florida, which also is a marsh land. The Mesopotamians were between the Tigris and Euphrates. Ryan is between Casselberry and Winter Springs. The Mesopotamians had a very pessimistic view on their afterlife. Ryan has an optimistic view on his. They liked to trade. Ryan likes to trade computer files over the Internet.

Walk like an Egyptian?

Greeks and Romans viewed the land of Egypt the same way modern man views the ruins of Greece. Ryan wears clothing and some Egyptians wore clothing. The Egyptians, both male and female, would shave their heads. Once Ryan shaved his head, but currently he has long hair and a beard. Both the males and females were known to wear makeup. Ryan has worn makeup. The Egyptians built pyramids and sphinxes. Other than when someone walking in the room and saying "What sphinx?", Ryan has not built much. They used Israelites as slaves to help build the pyramids. Ryan had a slave, his little brother, that has helped him with his chores. Egyptians lived in an area of the world where the temperatures would require the need for air conditioning, which they didn't have back then. Ryan lives in a similar climate. The Egyptians would mummify their pets when they died. Ryan has a pet, but it can't die because it is an artificial intelligence cat. The Egyptians worship cats. He loves his cat, but doesn't worship it. The Egyptians also worshiped many gods. He worships one God. The Egyptians would write in hieroglyphics that took years to decipher. Ryan can also write in a handwriting that could take years to decipher. The Egyptians liked to wear lots of jewelry. Ryan doesn't like wearing jewelry. The Egyptians liked Funerary art. Ryan likes surrealistic art.

Greece . . . not the movie, the country . . .

The Greeks were famous for their salads, gyros, and feta cheese. They built the Parthenon. Ryan has written his own INI file. Not one line goes straight up in the Parthenon. Ryan has trouble drawing straight lines himself. The Greeks liked to drink wine. In fact they had a god of wine, Dionysus. Ryan likes to whine, but dislikes pagan gods. The Greeks had several statues stolen from them by Lord Elgen. Ryan had a bike, class ring, compact discs, and money stolen from him. Greece has lots of statues of naked people. Ryan thinks that people should wear clothes. The Greeks were the founders of drama. Ryan at one time in his life was an actor. The Greeks built many temples. Ryan only has two temples. The Greeks had two types of temples, Doric and Ionic. Ryan only has one type. Socrates, a Greek philosopher, taught people to "know thyself." Ryan is still trying to figure himself out.

Rome . . . the city of wanderers

Rome wasn't built in a day. Rome is famous in part for these rulers: Julius Caesar and Augustus Caesar. Ryan has worked at Little Caesars, but never made assistant manager. Augustus was smarter than Julius, who was stabbed several times by his "friends", in the fact that he wore a breastplate so that he wouldn't get stabbed. Ryan is smarter than Augustus in saying "Hey Augustus, what about your back?" Marc Anthony is famous for his speech "Friends, Romans, Countrymen . . . " Ryan isn't famous for any speeches yet. Rome had two Spanish emperors: Trayjon and Haidrian. Ryan only has one ruler(a straight-edged strip for drawing straight lines and measuring lengths). Hadrian built a wall between England and Scotland that is 73 miles long to signify that he could not beat the Scots. Ryan helped build a house once. Augustus loved poetry. Ryan likes poetry, his favorite poets being David and Poe. Rome used aqueducts to transport water. Ryan uses pipes. Romans is also a book in the Bible. Ryan is not a book in the Bible. Rome built the Pantheon, which is equivalent to Greece's Parthenon. Ryan wonders why the Pantheon didn't blow up like the Parthenon. Rome was the first to build stone domes. Ryan was one of the first sons of his parents. Augustus made the Pax Romana, which means Roman Peace. Ryan made The Paper.

Well, our study is concluded and we have discovered that Ryan has many similarities with ancient civilization, but is not exactly the same. For example, Ryan doesn't worship pagan gods. We are happy with the results we have come up with. Ryan is animal-like, unintelligible, a victim of robbery, likes to trade, likes poetry, and owns a cat. In all that sums up our research.

The source of this research is from a combination of Ryan's mind and his notes from his Intro to Humanities class.
