UPDATE: March 02, 2006:

Harry Havence Munroe was born November 20, 1877 in Baltimore, MD.
His parents were James S. Munroe and Rebecca C. Parks.
Harry was one of 13 children. It is unknown when he became a missionary.
Records show that Harry filled out a World War I Registration Card in 1917.
At that time his address was Hillsdale, Baltimore Co., MD.
He was 40 years old and an ordained Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Nashville,
a US Missionary to Japan.
He was listed as married, four children; tall, slender, grey eyes and brown hair.

Next found was a San Francisco Passenger List Record.
Harry age 43, his wife Lois R. age 42, and five daughters:
Elizabeth age 13, Dorothy age 12, Lois age 9, Jean age 4 and Ellen age 1.
This family shows on the manifest of United States Citizens on the ship
S.S. Siberia Maru Voy.24-East,
sailing from Port of Kobe, June 22nd, 1921 and
arriving at Port of San Francisco, July 13th, 1921.

UPDATE: March 02, 2006:

I have had a photograph of Gertie Munroe nee Parish on my website for over 9 years.
The picture was given by a family member who hoped I would be able to find out more.
TODAY this is what I find, finally..

Gertie Munroe was actually Gertrude Parish who married Franklin F. Munroe.
Franklin and Gertie were found on the 1930 Federal Census of District 608,
Baltimore Independent City, Maryland. This census was eunumerated on April 3, 1930.
It shows the address of 3822 Barrington Road.

The family consists of Franklin F. Munroe, father, head of house and owner
of home, age 60, was an Insurance superintendent. He was born in Maryland as
were both of his parents. His wife, Gertrude, age 54, was born in Maryland.
Only one child, Margurite age 12, is listed.
Gertrude's sister, Bertie Parrish age 50, health nurse
and mother Sarah Parrish age 86, widow are also listed.

If you can contribute more information on this family it would be greatly appreciated.
Franklin and Gertrude are my great-grandaunt and great-granduncle.
