The Parents

My mother, Ethel Leoma (Stranahan) Clarke and Daddy, Ewing Thomas Clarke Sr. about 1960. BTW- the "fur collar" she is wearing is a live silver whooley monkey named "Sambo" who preferred onions to bananas.

"Granny", Tom's mother, in Aug. 1994 in nursing home.
As you can see, she loved to "clown around" and
"party" was one of her "most favoritest" words!!!!

The Grandparents

My father's mother, Mayme Kennedy Clarke
She died when Daddy was just a young boy.
Picture had some cracks in it, but I fixed it!
I framed it, like Daddy's original had been.

What do you think? Kind of similar in looks?
Picture taken June 1962, cropped for comparison.

My mother's mother, Jessie Corema Stranahan about 1960, the matriarch of the Stranahan clan. Mother, Grandmother, great-grandmother, she baked her own bread, grew her own vegatables, raised her own chickens, sewed her own and others' clothes without a pattern, painted pictures to amuse the grandchildren, cared for her son's children and always had time to talk to anyone who wanted to follow her around while she did her chores.
