Our wonderful leading lady portrayed beautifully buy Ms. Paltrow. She sure can
get herself into some scrapes huh? Nevertheless I love the character and the movie.
Mr. Knightly~Jeremy Northam
The one thing in this movie that really bugged me was them never telling us
his first name! Didn't that stink! Maybe it's in the book, I guess I should read
it. Hey if you know PLEASE e-mail me:)N E WAY Jeremy Northam also did a wonderful job. You realize that he's older
but your not grossed out like in the A&E version where he's practically Emma's
father.
Harriet Smith~Toni Collette
I simply love Harriet. That poor girl went through so much in this movie!
I felt sooo bad for her. I thought that they should have given her some more
flattering dresses though because it made her look kind of weird, when I
think she's really pretty.
Mrs. Anne Weston~Greta Scacchi
Emma's past governess and now friend and mentor. She married Mr. Weston
and is therfore stepmom of Frank Churchill.
Mr. Weston~James Cosmo
Marries Emma's governess and is a good friend of the Woodhouse's. Has a
son from his forst marriage, Frank Churchill.
Mrs. & Ms. Bates~Phyllida Law & Sophie Thompson
and is therfore stepmom of Frank Churchill.
son from his forst marriage, Frank Churchill.
Long time friends of the Woodhouse's. They are not of good fortune however
and for the most part Emma is charitable towards them but later terribly insulsts
Ms. Bates ans risks their friendship. They are also related to Jane Fairfax.
Jane Fairfax & Frank Churchill~Polly Walker & Ewan McGregor
If you've read the above you get a general picture of these two, who in the end
have been hiding a secret engagement and meanwhile are engaging the fancy of others.
