This takes a long time to get rolling but it's worth it if you love this film as much as I do. If ya don't then I suggest you find the Exit (the FAN) and get outa Dodge - I mean Tombstone - while the gettin's still good.
This film is my hands-down favorite western and it's one of my top 5 favorite mainstream films of all time. And here, in my screening room, YOU control the dialogue - pick from any of the 4 excerpts down there, play 'em all at once if ya want! (If ya can.) I wanted to put even MORE dialogue - an' make no mistake, I've got it - but then it takes even longer to get rolling and the popcorn would be stale.
"Frederic fucking Chopin"
"Wyatt, I am r o l l i n g. "
" You retired too?
""Say when."
Tombstone is that rarest kind of movie: the kind that actually gets better the more you see it. It has everything - humor, wit, pathos, love, lust, high-level chicanery and of course gunfights. The dialogue is my favorite thing in the movie - that unexpectedly intellectual dialogue that I never get tired of hearing. And the subtleties of the characterizations - everyone is great of course, but I'm specifically referrin' to Val Kilmer as ol' Doc - - - this to me is one of the most perfect mmarriages of dialogue and delivery I have ever experienced in a film; his performance is indelible, absolutely unforgettable. I mean years have gone by and I'm still walkin' around drawlin' "I'm yo' huckleberry" and "Say when."
Hey, Don't forget your Tombstone movie poster
