joao paulo silva joao paulo is the son and grandson of piano players and started quite early with his musical studies, but it was not until he was forteen that he revealed himself as a gifted player and composer. after is study in lisbon conservatory and his grand prix from paris conservatoire, he spent some time in france where he started a thorough search for his own path in music, which eventually gave this wonderful blend of folk tunes and rythms with jazz improvisation. enjoy some excerpts from his cd serra sem fim ("endless hill"), featuring jorge reis (as, ss), mário franco (b) and the resourceful josé salgueiro on percussion. |
