i truely believe that every worth portuguese composer should, at least once, try to compose a fado. i believe that it is a good, if cathartic, way of looking into our musical tradition.
o fado, however, is not an example of such a kind of meditation, as it was named after the initial melodic idea reminded me of the inner feeling of the fado. its general ambiance is kind of epic, and it is meant to have lirics to it, although i never managed to write any that could satisfy me. can you??
the grand finale puts the whole orchestra on stage. is that epic enough? |
