NAPOLEONIC STAMPS PAGE!!
The collection was begun in 1980 and petered out about 1993 when I couldn't seem to find any more sets. This is not surprising as Napoleon is not the best subject to follow in Australia. 95% of the stamps were bought overseas pre-net and it was a long process doing it all by snail-mail!
In it's entirety it comprises over 100 double sided sheets and somewhere in the vicinity of 1000 stamps if counted individually. As I was also into stamp collecting I tried to get sets in both perforate and imperforate, mini-sheets and full sheets so many of the sets are duplicated in several formats, their are several FDCs', a set of cigarette cards and a dozen or so old postcards. Their are giant stamps, minature stamps, a set of unissued proofs, a 3D mini- sheet, gold and silver foil issues. In all quite a unique collection.
I am fairly sure that it would be the largest collection on Napoleon in existence and impossible to duplicate today. Most of these issues were broken up over the years for thematic packets and are probably long gone. Others were very limited issues and some are over-stamped sample or specimen, whilst some are numbered.
Never having the chance to show them off before I have created this page to preview a few for the enjoyment of others.
