THREE PICTURES THAT HELP TO COUNTERACT AGE OLD SEXIST STANDARDS & STEREOTYPES

This picture of a very muscular woman throws doubts upon the ancient notion that women are inherently "the weaker sex."  What I find interesting is the extreme negative reaction many persons (both men and women) have when looking at photographs of female body builders (such as the one on the left).  Some say, "She is a woman with a man's body," but what deciphers a woman's body from that of a man's?  The major thing, of course, would be possessing the reproductive organs that determine someone a woman while lacking those that determine someone a man.  Well then, so long as the person in the picture meets that criteria, what she has is the body of a woman, right?  Where men, in our society, can get buffer than your average fellow (indeed this is sometimes encouraged) with out being considered "circus freak"  by a general populus, women  (except amoung certain circles) are not usually entitled to this sort of luxury.  Aside from fettish impulses, many people, perhaps, may not consider the woman on the left to be attractive.  Naturally, every woman/man is entitled to believe whatever they want with regards to what is attractive and what is not.  After all, " beauty is in the eye of the beholder," right?  I just wonder why it is that so many behold almost an almost identical conception of physical beauty.

I realize that girls playing soccer (picture at right)  is not an uncommon site at all according to present day standards in western culture.  However certain occupations, sports, and so on are still quite taboo for females.  I initially wanted to display on this page a picture of women playing (American) football, but despite much searching, I was unable to find any.  I believe this somewhat proves my prior statement about taboo activities.  Another thing I wanted to mention is that while I was searching for pictures of women via the internet, typing innocent terms into the search engine such as "pregnant women," and "female athletes," I had to scroll through about three pages worth of pornography inorder to find meritable sites.   What might this say about society?

I love this picture.  It is adorable.  A Cornball picture of the Classic Lovebird Couple -- I could die smiling, if only I did not know how many persons might be outraged at the amount of flesh the woman is showing -- especially now that she is pregnant and over twenty.  But this photograph is one of the most tasteful nudes I have ever seen in my life (with the exception of the cheeze-factor) and why is a woman not allowed to be comfortable with her body even if she wants to be?  Women in this country can not walk around in public with their shirts off, though men can. . .
. . .and how many times have you heard somehthing to the effect of, "She's too fat to wear
that"???
