*RECIPES*

Welcome to my recipe page. As you probably know, I enjoy cooking and baking. So, after I thought about it I decided to be nice and share some of these secret recipes with anyone who's interested.
If you happen to try any of the things on here, and you think it's gross or have any suggestions at all, please email me. I'd be very interested in any comments.

Okay, I'm just going to throw this one on here to start. It's terribly easy and very yummy.
But I do have one warning. I don't really use recipes, so I've guessed on amounts.
Go ahead and make your own variations.

*CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP*

1 49oz can of chicken broth
1/2 lb. boneless chicken, cut into pieces (uncooked)
1 1/2 cups uncooked egg noodles
1 cup sliced carrots
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/3 cup sliced celery
1 tsp dried dillweed
1/4 tsp ground black pepper

Place all of the ingredients in a large pan and cook on medium-high heat until boiling. Reduce heat; simmer 20 minutes or until noodles are cooked.

I bake more deserts than I do 'real food'. So I'm sure you'll see more cake
and cookie recipes than anything else.
This Carrot Cake is SO GOOOOOOD! It's not extremely healthy,
but that's okay every once in awhile. :)

*CARROT CAKE*

3 cups finely grated carrots
1 1/4 cups oil
4 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
2 cups flour

Combine carrots, oil, eggs and sugar together in a large bowl using a mixer. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour into a GREASED and FLOURED 13"x9" cake pan. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes. Cool and frost with cream cheese frosting (below) and sprinkle lightly with shredded coconut.

*CREAM CHEESE FROSTING*

1 (3 oz) package cream cheese
1/2 cup butter
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tsp vanilla

Mix all ingredients together with mixer.

*PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES*

1 1/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup shortning
3 TBSP milk
1 TBSP vanilla
1 egg
3/4 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
1 3/4 cups flour

Place brown sugar, peanut butter, shortning, milk and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat at medium speed with mixer until blended. Add agg; beat just until blended. Combine flour, baking soda and salt separately. Add to shortning mixture; beat at low speed until mixed completely.
Drop on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten dough into criss-cross pattern with the back of a fork covered with sugar. Bake 7-8 minutes at 375. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet. Remove.

*SUGAR COOKIES*

This cookie recipe is wonderful!! I've never tasted better sugar cookies anywhere! But baking them
is the tricky part. Since oven temperatures vary, you may need to adjust the baking time. And make
sure to use cream cheese frosting (the Betty Crocker pre-made kind tastes the best on these!)

1 cup shortning
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup soured canned evaporated milk (soured with 2 tsp vinegar)
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 salt
4 tsp baking powder
4 1/2- 5 cups flour

Cream together sugar, shortning and eggs. Add soured milk, vanilla and dry ingredients. Chill for atleast 1 hour (until dough is cold and firm) and roll out (to about 1/8"-1/4" thickness) on a floured board. Cut into shapes and bake (either on parchment paper, or ungreased cookie sheet) at 350 for 10-15 minutes (all depending on your oven!) Frost when cool with cream cheese frosting.
