MUIR ISLAND

A BlackBird lands on the island. Awaiting the ship's occupants are Betsy Braddock aka Psylocke, Moira MacTaggart scientist, Captain Britain and his wife Meggan, Wolfsbane and Warlock.

The four passengers come down from the jet. Rogue has been badly burned while battling Binary aka Carol Danvers. The others are the Angel, Magneto, and Gambit who are on the run from SHIELD.

ANGEL: Thank You for letting us land here Moira.

MOIRA: Ofcourse Warren. Hurry bring her to the med-lab.

Angel flies Rogue to the Med-Lab.

MAGNETO:(to self) Moira has called Captain Britain and company it seems. Angel was sure to emphasize everyone on the BlackBird so I can have a reception. They are here because of me.

CAPTAIN BRITAIN: Hello Gambit, Magneto. Why are SHIELD after you?

GAMBIT: Well mon ami don't beat around the bush!

MAGNETO: He has a right to know Gambit. They wanted me to surrender to them. I told them I would if they freed Xavier. They refused and the situation escalated.

WOLFSBANE: You know it's only a matter of time till the arrive here!

MAGNETO: Rahne how are you?

WOLFSBANE: hmf!

MAGNETO: Is that Warlock? What happened to Douglock?

WARLOCK: Self * was Douglock. Self * has suffered from amnesia * Using likeness of self friend Doug * Ramsey * Self is whole now * but never back to norm*

MAGNETO:(to self) Amazing! After being destroyed Warlock used his powers to create a false identity based on his old deceased friend Doug Ramsey! But now he is back to normal as Warlock!

CAPTAIN BRITAIN: Let's go inside where you can give us your story.

A few hours later after Magneto has told his story everything has quieted down.

Angel and Psylocke sit outside viewing the stars.

PSYLOCKE: Warren you have to leave soon. SHIELD hasn't made an attempt yet because they haven't pooled enough resources to take us on as well.

ANGEL: I don't think SHIELD has enough resources to take on Magneto and Captain Britain never mind us!

PSYLOCKE: I see your point. Yet there will be a confrontation if...

ANGEL: What's wrong Betsy you trying to get rid of me?

PSYLOCKE: You know that's not true! Warren I was hoping on you moving here to form a new Excalibur!

ANGEL: But this complicates matters? I guess your right. The problem is SHIELD wants Magneto, Gambit, and Rogue bad! I am only trying to ensure a certain peace. I mean they are not the best example of Xmen.

PSYLOCKE: Neither am I nor you for that matter.

ANGEL: They need someone to look over them just in case. But when this all gets settled I will return!

PSYLOCKE: IF this all gets settled I don't know if I want you back!

She walks off.

ANGEL:(to self) It's not that simple Betsy! Magneto can easily turn Rogue and Gambit to a new Brotherhood of Evil Mutants I need to be there to stop that!

MED-LAB

MAGNETO: How is she Moira?

MOIRA: Rogue....has gone another transformation.

MAGNETO: That's what I feared.

MOIRA: It seems Carol Danvers and her switched powers! She has the power of Binary now just not as potent. But still incredibly powerful. She still possess her absorption abilities a degree of her former strength and invulnerability.

MAGNETO: Her body is fine but her mind will never be the same.

MOIRA: Maybe I should get Betsy to...

MAGNETO: No doctor there is no reason to meddle further!

MOIRA:(to self) I don't know if I like this. Magneto carries a grudge for me tampering with his powers/personality chemical interaction years ago. I did secretly without him knowing. Where is Brian?

MOIRA: Magnus...

MAGNETO: Don't call me that! I am Magneto.

MOIRA:(to self) Better sound the alarm!

Moira runs and clicks the alarm to alert the others.

MAGNETO: Woman you are insane!

MOIRA: I'm not taking any chances with you Magneto! Last time we talked you almost killed me!

MAGNETO: I wasn't in my right mind woman....

Captain Britain flies in the room and slams into Magneto who has lifted a forcefield in time. But still, he feels the blow! They go through the wall and outside.

GAMBIT: It appears the party has started and we are not wanted for the cutting of the cake!

Captain Britain punches the master of magnetism hurling him 100 yards across the island.

MAGNETO: Braddock I do not want a battle! But if you assault me again I will be forced to break you!

ANGEL: Brian wait! If the man doesn't want to mix it up leave him alone!

CAPTAIN BRITAIN: But Moira...

MOIRA: I panicked Brian. I am sorry.

CAPTAIN BRITAIN: Well then, uh...

MED-LAB

GAMBIT: She looks so different. Her hair is red and short now! She is not as muscular as before! She looks more like a little girl now! A bad little cheri at that.

PSYLOCKE: Hello Gamibt!

GAMBIT: Hello there mon ami.

PSYLOCKE: She has been broken! Her mind shattered. She will not be the same woman you loved!

GAMBIT: No, I think the part I loved the most is what she has become.

PSYLOCKE: How fitting.

GAMBIT: And you ninja you are not the same woman you were are you?

PSYLOCKE: No I live in another woman's body while mine has died! Atleast I have a soul.

GAMBIT: What are you implying cheri?

PSYLOCKE: Nothing thief nothing at all.

GAMBIT: You best watch your tongue lass because you might have been sugar & spice once upon a time but I will...

CAPTAIN BRITAIN: Are you threatening my sister?

GAMBIT: And if I am?

ANGEL: Please stop! Betsy we will be leaving now.

LATER

MEGGAN: You know SHIELD is waiting for your takeoff to attack!

MAGNETO: Once we depart I can make the BlackBird even faster and with the cloaking device we should get away!

WARLOCK: Teacher* Magneto I wish * I could go with you * but I stay here with * friend Rahne * for now.

MAGNETO: That is fine son.

They all say their goodbye's. And the BlackBird flies away.

CAPTAIN BRITAIN: They are gone.

Nick Fury walks out.

NICK FURY: I doubt any of you will tell me where they are going?

PSYLOCKE: They didn't say.

NICK FURY: I wish I could read minds sometimes it would make my job easier.

NICK FURY: Brian you know the man is a monster! The Angel won't be able to keep him under wraps! After Excalibur is reassembled can I call on you?

CAPTAIN BRITAIN: I am flattered but what are the Avengers for?

NICK FURY: Cap and I have a conflict of interests sometimes.

CAPTAIN BRITAIN: So you want us as your pawns instead!

NICK FURY: You know what the man is and what he is capable of. Can I count on you?

Brian looks at Meggan then Betsy.

CAPTAIN BRITAIN: If the Angel fails to keep them in check then we will help.

Fury smiles and lights a cigar.

NEXT ISSUE: Rogue wakes up! The quartet head over to San Francisco! Nick Fury compiles more pawns! Oh yeah a guy by the name of Graviton also!
